Land@Slide presented at AHORN 2015

This year’s AHORN 2015 conference in Wildhaus, CH, on the 26th and 27th of November held an interesting variety of topics about technologies of orientation, positioning, remote sensing and communication in Alpine applications, among them ski areas, helicopter rescue, and natural hazards (http://www.ion-ch.ch/ahorn2015). Florian Albrecht, Z_GIS, participated with a German talk on “Web-Service für Hangrutschungsinformationen aus Fernerkundungsdaten” in the session about geomonitoring. Clemens Eisank, Grid-IT, also joined the conference. Other presented technologies for monitoring mass movements and natural hazards concerned GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) devices installed on rockslides, optical cameras installed in the field and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for terrain modelling and elevation change detection.
